High crimes
First it was David "kooky" Suzuki calling for the jailing of politicians who ignore the gospel of climate change. Now we have a notorious NASA scientist calling for trials for oil company executives:
James Hansen, one of the world's leading climate scientists, will today call for the chief executives of large fossil fuel companies to be put on trial for high crimes against humanity and nature, accusing them of actively spreading doubt about global warming in the same way that tobacco companies blurred the links between smoking and cancer. All these enviro whack-jobs need is a good old kangaroo court and they'll be in business.

With any luck, Hansen will get his wish and the trials will begin. Then his data will be brought into the light of day to be scrutinized by the courts in what may be the beginning of the debate, not the end.
Once all that is cleared up, he should be fired carefully, so as not to make him a martyr.
Of course not, those courts would be run by him and his cronies just as the Stalin's courts were run by his cronies.
The only thing being judged will be the question whether someone disagreed with Hanson's and Gore's gospel, not that gospel.
Islamic courts in Iran don't question the truth of the Q'Uran, do they? So why should Goreite courts question the truth of Gore?
