A winter without end
Environment Canada says Ottawa is approaching a record-breaking year with 410.7 centimetres this year compared to the previous record of 444.6 centimetres that fell in the winter of 1970-71.If it's any consolation, spring is just 11 days away.

I lived in Ottawa back then. We just had weather; we didn't have climate change. But within about 3 years someone had joined the dots, and done some extrapolating, and the great ice age was to be feared.
I learned in statistics class back then that "trends are not destiny". It seems that lesson is about to be relearned. Or so I would hope.
