If global warming is real then why is it cold?

Bump.
What will you be doing to participate in Earth Hour?
I, for one, will be LIGHTING UP as much as possible. I know, I know. Earth Hour is supposed to bring attention to the impact of greenhouse gases and spur millions around the globe to participate in an, albeit symbolic, act to combat global warming.
But we here at A Dog Named Kyoto know better, much better. We know that climate change is natural and that human activities, including carbon emissions, really have little or no impact on global warming (or cooling).
We know that there has been no warming of our climate since 1998 - no warming for the past 10 years! We know that this global warming alarmism is possibly the greatest fraud ever perpetrated on the human race.
We know that this Earth Hour is all just a bunch of foolishness and that most sensible people will be ignoring it. But that's just wrong. We can't ignore this nonsense! Therefore, I'm encouraging all thinking people, like you readers of this blog, (you know who you are - both of you!) to participate in Earth Hour 2008 in your own special way.
Here's a few suggestions:
The London Fog, Dust My Broom, Mitchieville and Lisa's Kitchen invite you to hasten Spring. Burn as much hydro as you can during this hour. Turn on every light and lamp, fire up the space heaters, bake some bread, cook some soup, do some laundry, print some recipes and be sure to flush. Do your part to combat global cooling.Or how about a couple of videos to spark the imagination?

Rumours are rampant that Nobel Prize winner, Inventor of the Internet and our favourite High Priest of the Church of Global Warming, Al "the Goracle" Gore is being considered to become the Saviour of the Democratic Party by ending the schism between the Hillaryites and the Obamatists:
John Zogby, the pollster who runs Zogby International, said today on the Hannity Radio Program that there are rumors that top ranking Democrats are talking about having Obama give his delegates to Al Gore. He said Obama would have to offer these delegates since he's in the lead and the thinking seems to be that Gore will have more appeal to white male voters and that Gore will likely be able to hold on to the support of Clinton supporters since these are core Democratic voters. He said that Hillary and Obama would be given either the VP position, high-level Cabinet positions, or the Senate Majority position or something along those lines in order to make their voters happy.Comment from Matt DiBari at Blogs for John McCain's Victory:
I pray they do this.DiBari is right. The Democrats are clearly frustrated that neither candidate has been able to reach a clear majority of delegates and that the race will likely be decided by the "super delegates".
The Democrats are facing a potential meltdown in Denver because they have two candidates that are so attractive to the Democratic electorate...
The obvious problem there is no matter who the party throws the nomination to, roughly half of the voters will feel that their candidate lost the election in the ’smoke-filled room.’Handing the nomination to the man that has not a single delegate in the 2008 election cycle, no matter how popular that man is, is not the answer.
If they steal the nomination from both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and give it to an old white guy, they will hand the Presidency over to John McCain.
Among Obama supporters, 20 percent said they would vote for Sen. John McCain of Arizona, the Republican nominee, if Clinton beats their candidate for the nomination. Among Clinton supporters, 19 percent said they would support McCain in November if Obama is the Democratic nominee. (See poll)Giving the nomination to Al Gore would be a terrible mistake for the DNC. Can they possibly be giving this serious consideration?

One winter morning in Pennsylvania a couple was listening to the radio while eating breakfast. They heard the announcer say, "We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so the snow plows can get through"Got it from this guy.
Norman's wife went out and moved her car.
A week later while they were again eating breakfast, the radio announcer said, "We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd-numbered side of the street, so the snow plows can get through."
Norman's wife went out and moved her car again.
The next week they were again having breakfast, when the radio announcer said, "We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You must park....." Then the electric power went off.
Norman's wife was very upset, and with a worried look on her face she said, "Honey, I don't know what to do. Which side of the street do I need to park on so the snow plows can get through?"
With the love and understanding in his voice that all men who are married to blondes exhibit, Norman said, "Why don't you just leave it in the garage this time."

Update: AL GORE, AL GORE, AND AL GORE
How many awards can Al Gore win from his worldwide coterie of sycophants?
In the spirit of international political correctness, the former vice president was awarded the Nobel Has-Nothing-to-Do-with-Peace Prize for emitting toxic pollutants into the atmosphere from his worldwide jet-setting to lecture everyone else about halting global warming by adopting medieval lifestyles while he "offsets" his own carbon footprint by screwing fluorescent light bulbs into the foyer of his energy-hog mansion.

via John Gormley:
But this week the feckless Stephane Dion, the first leader of the Liberal party since dance marathons not to become prime minister, brought the Alice in Wonderland feel of question period to a new place. That's why around here, we refer to him affectionately as the "current" leader of the Liberal Party of Canada.
Dion arrived at question period ready to demand a full public inquiry into allegations against ex-prime minister Brian Mulroney.
He was evidently well prepared -- a bit too prepared it turned out -- with just the right sound bite questions.
As question period began, it was clear that Prime Minister Stephen Harper had changed his mind from having a mere review by a neutral third party to accepting Mulroney's own request for a public inquiry.
In answer to Dion's first question, Harper announced he would appoint an independent person to "provide the terms of reference for a full public inquiry."
After listening to the answer, Dion sprung to his feet, demanding the prime minister "step up to the plate and do the right thing, that is to launch immediately a full public inquiry."
Harper: "I just answered this question about a public inquiry. The independent third party will give the government the appropriate terms of reference for such an inquiry, and such an inquiry will be launched."
Dion (evidently staying on script): "Mr. Speaker, even Mr. Mulroney is calling for a full public inquiry. The prime minister must be the only person who does not think it is a good idea. Why? What is he afraid of? Will he do the right thing? Will he take on his responsibilities and call a full public inquiry now?"
Harper: "Mr. Speaker, the problem is that the leader of the Opposition has whipped himself up into that question and has failed to listen to the previous two answers. That is precisely what the government will be doing."
It is hard to fathom where Dion can go from here. Don't expect it to be to 24 Sussex Drive anytime soon.

Last year I replaced all the windows in my house with that expensive double-pane energy efficient kind, and today, I got a call from the contractor who installed them. He was complaining that the work had been completed a whole year ago and I still hadn't paid for them.Maybe she'd like to invest in some carbon credits?
Hellloooo, just because I'm blonde doesn't mean that I am automatically stupid. So, I told him just what his fast talking sales guy had told ME last year, namely, that in ONE YEAR these windows would pay for themselves! Hellloooo? It's been a year! (I told him.)
There was only silence at the other end of the line, so I finally just hung up.... He never called back. Guess I won that stupid argument.
I bet he felt like an idiot.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon wants you to feel very, very guilty about global warming. via Brietbart [emphasis added]:
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that the slaughter in Darfur was triggered by global climate change and that more such conflicts may be on the horizon, in an article published Saturday.A hat tip goes to my favourite radio talk show host, who had this comment:
"The Darfur conflict began as an ecological crisis, arising at least in part from climate change," Ban said in a Washington Post opinion column.
UN statistics showed that rainfall declined some 40 percent over the past two decades, he said, as a rise in Indian Ocean temperatures disrupted monsoons.
"This suggests that the drying of sub-Saharan Africa derives, to some degree, from man-made global warming," the South Korean diplomat wrote.
"It is no accident that the violence in Darfur erupted during the drought," Ban said in the Washington daily.
When Darfur's land was rich, he said, black farmers welcomed Arab herders and shared their water, he said.
With the drought, however, farmers fenced in their land to prevent overgrazing.
"For the first time in memory, there was no longer enough food and water for all. Fighting broke out," he said.
Just when you thought it couldn't get stranger, just when you thought -- it actually gets stranger after this story. But when you thought it couldn't get stranger, we can all breathe a huge sigh of relief. Well, because for a while there, you know, I thought it was barbaric Islamofascists killing off the blacks and Christians in a religious-based genocidal frenzy.Bonus: listen to Al Gore sing Ball of Fire.
